Increasingly Stringent Air Permits Are Spurring Innovation in Pollution Control Technology for Renewable Wood Products
As modern economies transition from non-renewable energy sources and materials to those that can be naturally replenished, wood-based materials are growing in importance — as is the need to process and utilize them with maximum efficiency.
Furthermore, across states and around the globe, environmental regulation is moving with speed to address growing concerns about sustainable development and the negative health risks associated with the emission of hazardous pollutants.
One of the most promising developments in this new paradigm has been the discovery of advanced new uses for wood and wood-based materials. Among biomass products, wood pellets have become especially well regarded for their high durability and energy density.
Simultaneously, in the construction and material science industries, engineered wood, also known as mass timber, has never seen greater advances in both performance characteristics and the range of uses for this modern, composite material.
In 2020, NESTEC is at the forefront of this revolution and will be on hand at several major wood conferences in the coming months:
NESTEC will be attending the WOOD BIOENERGY CONFERENCE & EXPO in Atlanta, Georgia on March 10-11; and the PANEL & ENGINEERED LUMBER INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE & EXPO (PELICE), also in Atlanta, on March 12-13.

NESTEC is a Silver Sponsor at PELICE and will be available at BOOTH # 216.
Wood-based products are experiencing a renaissance, and NESTEC’s innovative pollution control technologies are helping manufacturing facilities develop these materials more efficiently and at a lower cost while staying in compliance with increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
NESTEC has or is presently providing air emission control systems for eleven (11) pellet plants in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Mississippi. Two (2) of the systems have been operating since 2013 with Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizers (RCO), still in compliance with little or no fuel consumption!
If you have an application that requires air pollution control and energy conservation and want to select your solution from a list of options that will meet your specific needs:
