NESTEC, Inc., an OEM provider of thermal oxidation systems and air pollution control solutions, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, December 6th at its new Service/Aftermarket facility at 222 E. Main St. in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania 18072.
Local politicians and representatives of the Slate Belt Chamber of Commerce were present for the grand opening of the 12,000-square-foot facility, which includes storage and fabrication spaces as well as a five-ton overhead crane. The building also includes 1,000 square feet of offices and conference rooms and 80,000 square feet of outdoor storage area.
Originating as a slate mill this building has a long history of commercial and industrial uses. It has served as the headquarters of the Structural Slate Company, a slate marketing and sales corporation, as well as a gun shop, printing shop, small engine repair facility, and various other commercial businesses.
NESTEC Inc. will be utilizing the building as a central warehouse for parts sales as well as a service and repair facility for their customers’ equipment.
When interviewed, Jeremy Redcay (Service/Aftermarket Manager) said, “The Slate Belt is an ideal location for us due to its proximity to major highways and the Lehigh Valley and is centrally located between our corporate facility in Douglassville, PA and our OEM/Engineering facility in Union, NJ. We now have the capability of rapidly dispatching parts, equipment, and service personnel anywhere in the world from a central location as well as adding the capabilities of building and repairing customer equipment such as custom control panels and custom fabricated parts while maintaining the quality and responsiveness that our reputation is built on. We look forward to carrying on the proud industrial history of this building and working with the local communities as we continue to grow our service offerings to industry.”
