Modern regulations call for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) to be almost entirely destroyed before being introduced to the air outside of any manufacturer in countries across the world. What is thermal oxidation?

When harmful or dangerous pollutants must be curbed, thermal oxidation works by using extreme heat to convert VOCs and HAPs to carbon dioxide and water vapor. The degree of destruction or reduction efficiency (DRE) in the oxidizer is largely controlled by three design parameters: time, temperature, and turbulence.

For manufacturers to meet the needed standards thermal oxidation solutions, they must maintain their efficiencies or risk breaking down the unit performing the task. A partial or full failure of these systems often results in costly repair, extended downtime, fines and even local or federal government action.
